The Toms* take all the bad traits of a straight boy (spitting, fighting, smoking, aggression, broken teeth, drink driving at speed on loud motorbikes, nose picking, smelly armpits) and use them as if they are virtuous characteristics

Stereotyping always a fools game.
As I only know only one Tom Boy well, I’ll relate my experience with Pek.
Pek helped me a great deal when I was upcountry for a visit. Pek picked me up ay my hotel and led me by my hand
through the throngs of people gathered for a large monk ceremony. He stayed with me and was delightful company.
Later on when discussing Pek, my boyfriend laughed when he realized I thought Pek was a boy. He was quite rotund,
boy haircut, boys clothing and mannerisms. Lek about 30 y.o. and popular with the ladies.
So, one of the nicest, kindest and most considerate Thais I’ve met is a Tomboy dyke.
I just can’t use ‘she’ when discussing Pek and use ‘he’. Confusing but that’s the way it is.
