I just asked two men at Screwboys and they say more like 10 offs a month, though obviously it varies low to high season. Anyone who has been a customer there has seen 30 plus men on stage and 6 or so customers only at times. I think we should be generous with drink tips at that bar.

It is if you use Bayes' theorem. In very simple terms this allows you to infer from a very small set of data, but as more data becomes available you modify your inference as necessary. I'd think that a sample size of two would provide a quite low level of confidence however

Thank you for Bayes theorem. This thread gives us a sample size of three now. My intensive and selfless research of offs at Screwboys adds to my confidence that average monthly offs are lower than 18 per young man. But I will drag myself there next week to improve our data set.

You probably need to apply a seasonal factor as well. If you ask the boys for the period of say mid-December to mid-January (the true "high season") you'll likely find a higher percentage with an "off" most days. That is because the annual visitor tends to arrive, pick a boy and keep him for the duration of his holiday, and then fly home. That's probably about 18 - 20 "offs" in a 4-week period, since the punter usually pays the bar by the day

The number of offs a boy can expect is in direct proportion to how attractive he is and how well he performs. Go into Nice Boys every evening for 10/12 consecutive days and it's the same boys offed day after day. For some of them an 18 off month would be down on their average.

I tend to think that too. When I am in a gogo bar I only see 1, 2 boys I would off. Not because the others are all unattractive, but when I pay for sex I settle only for the best of the best. I mean why pay 1000/1500 baht for a good looking boy, when you can get your dream boy for the same prize, if not in that bar, then in another?

Since I also think my taste in boys is not that different from those of other farangs who are into twinks, I sometimes think many boys don't get any offs at all and only fullfill the role of filler. Else the stage looks so empty. But what does this do with such a boy's selfesteem? I hope they don't think they aren't attractive. Many are attractive to me, it is just that in a "gay for pay" environment it is not economically rational to pay 1000/1500 if you can get something slightly better for the same price. I hope these boys who are never offed realize that. They are far from unattractive, it's just that they are below dream/angel level

maybe take a few of them to a supermarket meat department late one day so they can see it is normal that all the best cuts are snapped up quickly and the scrag-ends are always left on the shelf. I am sure this will do wonders for their self-esteem - or least help them understand how their customers view them.

I think there's another way of looking at things. Take Nice Boys. Perhaps boy X is more attractive than boy Y but if I've had boy X, perhaps twice then I'm going to off boy Y because I haven't had him.
