If film and TV have an influence on popular perceptions then this sort of movie is doing more than it's fair share for the Gay movement; it screams acceptance and love. Moreover, while you see no nudity you might compare it to the difference between a go-go bar and a host bar: just because he is covered up makes him no less hot.
