Thinking of going to sri lanka ,any body been there, is it worth a trip, Colombo Sri Lanka, there is a couple of gay guest houses that i may tri ,any thing else .thanks

I was thinking of going to Negombo this upcoming holiday, but after extensive research on the internet I decided not to go.

There was mention of police scams against gay tourists, the authorities' anti-gay stance, unsafe beaches after dark (no surprise there), filthy streets and beaches, mostly overweight guys, etc.

However, if someone has recently returned from there I'd be interested in their opinion.
