No online booking (why is that important?) that I know of, but cheaper than Malaysia hotel:
Thung Mahamek privacy hotel diagonally opposite Malaysia hotel, next to 7-Eleven, 650 THB per night.
LA Hotel (short time hotel but probably overnight as well) diagonally opposite Malaysia hotel, next to Ibis, don't know prices.
I think Thung Mahamek does short time as well, so both places will be manned throughout the night.
