If you are close to your family living many time zones away apparently is not an option for you. I am happy you are close to your family.
I was in Portugal last winter - visiting my foster son (I love that boy) - and I would love to retire there but as an American it is not as easy for me to retire in Portugal as it is for Europeans.
Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, and they all stink.
My family are all deceased. Although I doubt that any would want to come to Thailand to visit me even if alive.
