Swampy has seats at the gates & seats at the coffee shops.
If you take the escalator down one level below the main aisle on the departure area, there are also loads of seats.

I didn't have a problem finding a comfortable armchair in departures in Swampy. On the same level as all the shops and cafes.
Hitchhiking's more of a challenge on the road less travelled.

The seating appears after you've passed all the shops. They don't want you sitting down there! They want you off your bum and spending, spending, spending.

If only they had modelled swampy on Singapore Airport! There they treat you as a traveller first and shopper second. They've even got free tours to downtown to take you out of the airport and away from all the shops.

You mean all those metal seats with nothing to look at? No ta! At least the dreaded Heathrow has a proper departure lunge unlike Swampy!

I usually end up turning left after security and walk to the end, a long way, where there is a Costa fortune coffee place that has arm chairs.
