NIrish, your post makes sense. So I'll buy the bottle, once I see if anyone shows up. On my 32nd birthday, I'd organised a house party, and arranged to meet different groups in 3 different bars. No-one showed up and I went home alone to a mountain of food I'd spent all day preparing.

francois, I've posted earlier that I'd be in the bar at 6pm, allowing for any delays. If my friend shows up, we'd probably head off for dinner about 9 if he wants. He might be more comfortable just getting stuff from the carts as they go round.

I went last night. Caberet bar with some of the dancers from the cafe royal. It has two shows at 11pm and 24:30.

Am staying in Jomtien as part of upcoming trip, any recent updates on this bar? Is it still open with regular shows?

Its interesting in that they seem to have absolutely no customers before 23.00
In the meantime the other bars in the complex are thronged with punters

I wonder have they got their pricing model slightly wrong and need to attract the earlier drinking crowd with Happy Hours

Yes that's what aussie and I were referring to in post #103, how they can attract customers into an enclosed bar (no outside passing traffic, people watching or atmosphere to take in when the doors are shut) and at show bar prices when no entertainment on stage. I was expecting some kind of initiative to be in place by now, but apparently not. Maybe they take in enough during the trading time from 23.00 to closing to justify.

When I was there the bar was open onto the street....
Perhaps they only close the doors at show time or the street openings are a new thing?
