    Ireland prepared for nuclear war!

Here's a bit of nostalgia for those who remember the nuclear fears of the 60s -

    From the article:

If they had to go out, they were advised to wear a scarf and a pair of gloves, and bring a flask of tea.
Oh yeah, that will protect you from a 80 kilotonne nuclear explosion.

    I'll just leave this here:

See, told you nate night comedy is actually pretty good at the news. There should be another episode of Last Week Tonight on YouTube in about 14 hours.

Really enjoyed that Matt - thanks for posting.

Btw, one piece of advice in the Irish scenario was to bring a flask of tea if you must go outside. We love our tea here, but quite how it would protect you from nuclear radiation, I'm not sure.

This is probably stuff you guys already know, but the Cold War was very close to ending very badly multiple times.

Can't say I'm too comfortable with Trump being at the helm, and the 100% decider as to whether or not the US fires nukes.

Fortunately, the demented Fat Boy is not likely to aim any missiles at the Emerald Isle, so the citizens can get online to order their Christmas treats from Tesco. Curiously, the Tesco Northern Ireland Christmas food offerings are quite a bit more extensive than those available to Tesco shoppers in the ROI. Perhaps the housewives in the Republic prefer to prepare their own turkeys and ham rather than order from Tesco ? Can't imagine how the ladies juggle all that preparation. Websites consulted today indicate that in additional to the starters, besides the meat mains, there should be roasted, boiled, and mashed potatoes, various other veggies, a couple of puddings, maybe a Bailey's to finish off the festivities.

Sorry, seems I went off track.

I think the majority of Irish families still cook Christmas dinner from scratch. I know my brother and sister do. I visit one or other of them on the day.

Back to the nuclear threat - let's hope we can all enjoy a peaceful Christmas this year.

Can't wait for Trump's public speech coming up shortly in Seoul.

The now well known Blogger Sam Harris has a few lectures on Donal Trump as a person.
Delivered in his low key measured style the revelations and conclusions are all the more alarming.
He’s on Utube as no doubt you know.
Choose just even one lecture and you will realise just how scary these times are under this malignant and dangerous buffoon.
