I've decided on the Malaysia. From their website, and comments here, it seems to fit the bill. I'm just waiting for him to let me know when his mama can come down from Si Sisaket, and then I'll book it. Thanks for all the comments.

It's a good solid well proven location.
Close to Lumpini Park plus an MRT station which can whip you around to the big weekend market at near Mo Chit and other places.
