I've always enjoyed Dodger's reports....I found the account of his boyfriend's death in hospital genuinely moving and his report of a visit to a rural village illuminating.. Yes, it's a shame that appreciation of his latest post was submerged but, bluntly, it was his own fault. As long as we refer to a group or individual person as being representative of his race/culture or religion, we are encouraging stereotypes- drunken British louts, war-mongering Americans, greedy Jews, dishonest Thais, uncivilised Africans and so on. A poster of his intellect should know better. And his explanation shows that he hasn't yet understood this.
Nor has another respected and wise poster, Bobsaigon. Read the posts across the three forums; it is patently obvious that it is not alleged misbehaviour that has produced a stream of venomous comments but the fact that it is , allegedly, "Arab" misbehaviour. In other words, a group of noisy Thai motor-cy users behaving badly is a damn nuisance but a group of Arab motor-cyclists ....well, that opens up a Pandora's box of deep dislike.
