Grindr and other apps have meant many dont have to travel overseas as much.
A relatively attractive 55yo can still pull in younger guys on Grindr in his own Country along with Saunas etc.

Also paying for sex for the under 40 Generation is going out of fashion.

I think the reason is political correctness. In a world where everyone shares their entire life on Facebook, who's going to admit they're a sex tourist?

Didn't think about that. It is of course a telling sign when someone travels 2 times a year to Thailand. And each holiday the photos on your Facebook page are of the same temple and beach in Pattaya.
I mean that gives a big clue to your Facebook friends why you are in Thailand.

And if you do not post any new stories during your holiday that is also a telling sign.

I think you are onto something!

One of the biggest covers of all is "Golfing" trips by the straight husbands whose wives are conveniently left behind.
I've heard about the one and only trip to the golf course where photos are taken of the "Lads" in different positions and sporting different golfing apparel.
I remember seeing a movie on this theme years ago.
But I know for a fact that it happens for real- especially in Pattaya.
How/why do the wives buy it?
Perhaps they go on cultural-diversity courses to
places like Jamaica at the same time.

NOT everyone let me assure you.

I have no Facebook presence whatsoever (which before anybody else says it, is probably a mercy for the rest of Facebook)

I'm off grid also in terms of FB and most of that social media but no matter how you try to avoid it other people will drag you on to it and in to it at every opportunity.
I mean when the dinner that's about to be eaten is worthy of circulation nothing is excluded.
The default judgement now is in the negative ie you have to explain yourself as to why you're NOT on FB.

I think some of the above answers are bollocks, with all due respect, All my friends know why I go to Thailand and when I return the 'quality of the boys' available is as much a part of the chat as any new restaurants, the hotel etc etc. If your friends are judging you poorly because you enjoy sex as part of your leisure time then get better friends. My circle aren't for the most part gay, they're married with kids and perhaps, just a teensy weensy bit jealous of my freewheelin' ways. Haha.

I give a perfectly straightforward answer to that which shuts everyone up - "I'm an adult"
