    Deli Diner

No visit to Pattaya would be complete without a visit or two to Deli Diner. Breakfast was a little disappointing. The potatoes were hard and the eggs overcooked so no runny yolk. The waitress also forgot the fruit juice so all in all a bit of a let down. Interestingly the lady owner wasn't cooking and it showed.

Dinner was a considerable improvement with the top chef back at the stove. Gravad Lax is a dish that needs quality ingredients or it won't work. The salmon used here was top drawer and had been dry cured. The result was a dark pink colour with little moisture and a deep almost woody flavour enhanced by the dill. A sweet dill dressing was also served and this balanced the inherent saltiness of the salmon.. A main course of sea bass in a cream sauce was equally good. Thick fillets of fish with a golden brown colour cooked perfectly so that inside the flesh was firm but still moist and juicy. The cream sauce was light enough to compliment rather than overpower. Simple strawberry ice cream for dessert which could probably do without the squiggle of whiped cream. Overall I think the cooking at Deli Diner is a notch or two above Cafe John and for me, has a better location. Total bill for three courses with a water was 314 baht. Highly recommended as a dinner destination.

I don't have GPS data. It's not hard to find. Opposite Tukon and next to La Petit Planete.

MFAS is not a skinflint whatever else he is. Only a few days ago he was seen having his French wine and fine-dining repast near Tuk Com as is his wont.
By the way, two topics get massive responses here -Food & Male Nudity.
The market research is already done on this forum.
The path to riches is obvious; fine dining featuring nude male waiters.

Deli Dinner is also close to Somjit Massage and Cuisine Au Beurre. You can stroll by and check out the menu at each of these venues since they are almost next to each other. Personally find the daily specials at Somjit the most appetizing.
