And I am not taking about THOSE trips to Chang Mai.
Maybe some adventures along the Mighty Mekong or down to Hat Yai??
Years ago I did travel along the border of Thailand and Cambodia.
See the many amazing Khmer Temples.
But that was long ago and I am not sure any is now relevant.

I live in Bangkok; there's no need to go anywhere else. If I want to see some crumbling ruins I can make a short trip to Ayutthya or a longer one to Siem Reap - I've no need to go to Pattaya for that
