At holiday periods like Christmas and Songkran, the Sukhothai is often called Cruise Central! So many quite affluent young gay guys from around the region stay there. I love its restrained Thai feel with gorgeous silks on the walls and a great pool and large sun deck. The coffee shop bufftets and Sunday brunch are magnificent but all the food is on the expensive side and I'd suggest getting a B&B rate rather than pay as you go. Alternatively there's a Starbucks at the top of Sathorn by the Lumphini MRT station!
