I think in this context, smiles meant ha sip/ha sip to mean 50%
Same amount of time "dating" as "married".

As for me, took about 2 years before becoming "committed" to each other, with about 5 trips of 7-10 days each year together.
Gradually over that time became closer and more partner-like.

Has anyone gone through the Elizabeth Taylor's experience of more than half a dozen spouses?

Jellybean, please lay off the yaba before you post. Heaven forbid that you should become a clone of the one and only wombat living on this board.

Ah, cтАЩmon anonone, donтАЩt be such a party pooper. YouтАЩve been a member here long enough to know that you donтАЩt let the facts get in the way of a good post.

Smiles, no offence meant, hope you saw the funny side of my post.

Right, IтАЩm a little pixilated, met a great guy tonight and IтАЩm very happy, but itтАЩs high time I went to bed.

    Goodnight all! i-)

    Re: How much time passed..

I met my BF 13 years ago last month...
Not really how we went from our first meeting to being BFs... it just kinda happened and evolved over time...

A lot of people say we are more like best friends than BFs as neither of us is the lovey dovey type - and neither of us the jealous type... the fact that we are both quite predatory when we spot a potential "victim" makes us very compatible

Any talk of marriage is usually laughed off by both sides (who would be the wife!) - and he is so superstitious!

We spend around 14 weeks of the year together (me in Thailand for 9, him in Ireland for 5) chat on phone 3-4 times a day when separated and also by line chat, FB Chat and Line Video Chat

Were you perhaps meaning proposing getting married? If so, that's something I've never done and, at this late stage, doubt I ever will.
make an offer of marriage to someone.
"I have already proposed to Sarah"
    synonyms: ask someone to marry you, make an offer of marriage, offer marriage; informal pop the question;
dated ask for someone's hand in marriage
    "you've proposed to her!"
But in gay context I mean boyfriend and not marriage. I just realize, before gay marriage boyfriend was the highest achievable status, whereas in the straight world boyfriend/girlfriend is just an intermediate.
