    A Greek Odyssey

In Athens for an indeterminate time to observe a possible Grexit. As you all know, fetta cheese is cultivated under the foreskins of Greek men so I try to avoid that component of the local cuisine. Off to a club last night with one of Kommie's Boys (they're everywhere) where the highlight of the cabaret show was a drag queen in a WW2 German army uniform doing an Angela Merkel impersonation. Went down a treat with locals, who blame the Germans for the situation in which they find themselves.

I can put one rumour to bed. Now they're using EU passports Greek men are no longer required to include a photograph of their foreskin in their biometric data.

If you truly are in Athens, you must try out my favorite little Greek restaurant in the world; Athinaikon located at Mitropoleos 34 Sintagma, Athens 10563, Greece.

Thanks for the suggestion. When were you there last and how often have you been? I guess if it's your favorite ...

Like Dominic Strauss Kahn I never enquire too closely if presented with a brace of boys at a private party (although in DSK's case it would be girls, don't you know). Silvio Berlusconi is a great provider of entertainments of that sort in Italy, so I understand. Last night's party was in a very grand apartment, the wine and the boys flowed freely. I'm sure that favours were being repaid or sought, and lubricant was not only being used for its usual purpose, but also to help with the wheels of Athens' "informal" economy, which is everywhere.

I ended up with a thirty-something Greek (who looked 25), a thirty-something Asian (who looked 20), and a forty-something Greek (I think) (who looked 50). The trouble with four is that it either splits into pairs, or three carry gaily on and one is eased out. Although all four of us started well, in concert as it were, the forty-something Greek gradually moved to the margins, and by the climax of our encounter (if I can use that term), he was reduced to handing around the tissues to the others. I won't go into further detail - pornography is a447's forte rather than mine - and I don't want to offend the sensibilities of joe552. As one of the characters in Staircase cries "How's that for Holy Week!?" - and for those of you who don't know, the Orthodox Easter starts tomorrow, so this is the Orthodox Holy Week. That means I'll be in the neighbourhood of your restaurant, Surfcrest; I'll see if I can pop in.

    Greek olives

Have you ever contemplated how the olive and the testicle have much in common? Last evening's entertainment consisted of the Asian man from a previous entertainment seeking me out so that I would, indeed, have a Good Friday feasting on his olives. I did. Enough said.

Thanks for that, Surfcrest, very worthwhile and I shall endeavour to go back while I'm here. I usually try my luck with waiters but they were so busy the extended chat up was out of the question.

    Money boys

I know you've all been waiting breathlessly for some information on the money boy scene. Here's the scoop: Take a few boatloads of refugees from Asia Minor and beyond and North Africa, mix in a sprinkle of unemployed Greek youth and surprise surprise there are many, many (inexpensive) male hookers to choose from. If that's your scene, and porn's your thing, try Kosmopolit Cinema (among many other places).

On the other hand, like many Thai massage boys, quite a lot of them are gay-for-pay and many of them are desperate. Consequently, the likelihood that you'll get mugged or otherwise ripped off is quite high if you go with someone you met on the street or in a pick-up "club".

It's really sounding more and more like Thailand, isn't it? Actually, I think it's worse. Oh, 20 Euros max.

    Re: A Greek Odyssey

A meal conversation yesterday centred on the foolishness of Brad the Impala demanding that punters pay a premium for refugee hookers. Free market mechanisms would soon lead to Greek boys claiming to be refugees so as to get the "refugee premium". Yes, I explained, SGT is a forum dedicated to the how, when and where of paying poor boys for sex. However Western guilt and the Limousine Left's trendiness still maintained pockets of resistance.

A rollicking good time was had by all.

    Re: A Greek Odyssey

Strip poker seems to be a favorite pastime among some of the boys. Mind you if the lights go out it's difficult to see some of those refugee boys at first. Fortunately with strip poker you don't have to find somewhere to hide your money; best to pay the boys on the way in, I always find. Poker aside, the current betting is that the Greeks will, at some point, simply default while remaining within the Euro zone - the worst of both worlds. I've decided to take a break soon and will fly Turkish Airlines to Bangkok. (I won't be going to Pattaya).

    Re: A Greek Odyssey

Back in Athens just in time (again?) for the climax of this Greek tragedy. Unlike Aristophanes, however, this tragedy is of an uncertain number of acts and may anyway turn out to be a farce. And speaking of farces, here's an interesting statistic especially for Brad the Impala. In his book Illegality, Inc Ruben Anderson points out that fewer than one in 100 illegal migrants who came to Spain since 1990 (Spain being the nearest piece of land to Africa) came through "irregular boat migration".

And of refugees themselves? The guys are still all available, at 20 Euros a go. Looking at that through the prism of a447's favourite statistic (it must be, he quotes my expertise on it all the time), Male Total Average Weekly Earnings in Greece are approximately ... well actually, no-one knows, that particular statistic seems a specialty of the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Using the Greek minimum monthly wage (courtesy of Wikipedia) it's approximately 22 Euros, so for a quick fuck the refugee is earning a day's minimum wage, more or less.

How does that compare to Thailand? The minimum daily wage for Bangkok is supposed to be 300 baht (same source), so for the 1500 baht fuck a boy is earning 5 days' wages. That doesn't seem fair to the poor refugees. Obviously they've ended up in the wrong country. Oh well, as the Thais say, mai bpen rai.
