Several hotels favoured by gays now display notices about visitors having to be 20 years old. I dont know whether they actually enforced the rule. A good proportion of rent boys are 18 or 19. It would be rather difficult having offed an 18 year old and then not being able to take him to the room.
I guess some of the hotels are feeling some sort of pressure or fighting a whispered reputation.

I had no problem dragging 18 and 19 year old " boys" back to my room, only twice was ID requested, but maybe thats because it was during the day and the reception was busy.
thanks for pointing that out, as per my other hotels booking, looks like the way forward now is booking indirectly via other sites & that explains the sloppy service with direct email confirmation, after seceral emails trying to book malaysia only replied immediately after i cancelled! TIT!!!!

It's been a few years since I've stayed there, but I find the exact opposite to be true. I find that booking directly with the staff is much better as it allows me to select where I stay, what floor and where (down at the end of the hall so I don't hear doors slamming and tricks frolicking in the elevators). Additionally, if you check in late at the Malaysia there is a possibility that they won't hold your room for you. If you book direct, let them know when you are coming...they'll be expecting you.

My friend said two 19 year olds on the way to this room were stopped at reception and denied entry.
As far as I can tell, reception check all visitors (even me!) and there is no sneaking past in a busy moment (I tried).
Your (latintopxxx) stay must have been just before introduction of this rule.
..mmmmm...i was there only 10 days ago?!
The boys still giggle when your name comes up...and I've heard that they've had to swap in another hard old bed, as the last was beyond repair.
