    sihanoukvill tourism

    found this vidoe,
i think they have a long way to go
when i was there this year, there was rubish and shit every where.
so if the continue and educate them, i think they might have a chance to turn this place round

I think they've been trying to turn this shithole around and touting it as the "New Pattaya" since at least a decade. I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Yes, grandpa, I know it used to be more fun 30 years ago...

See, now THIS is where this board comes into it's own where useful posts with short and sweet advice and comments like this can allow us to avoid wasting our time not going to crap places when on vacation.

And as for the comment about litter etc above my god even in their promotional video the streets were filthy and they seemed to spend half the video saying "yeah, we're definitely going to try to pick up more litter" - but as (surprisingly) the video was produced and narrated by a fellow Ulsterman !? I guess I'll have to give them a by ball but unfortunately for all their efforts it's not quite on my list of must go to places "just yet".

I'm sure I've mentioned before that my brother lives there and I visited once a few years ago. Nothing would persuade me to return.

I've been once & whilst I've not yet been back, there probably will be more visits.

Pros: Nice vibe on the main beach, which is still fairly well unspoilt. Several other unspoilt beaches. Glorious islands which can be reached by boat. Spacious and under developed town.
Cons: Almost no gay nightlife . Transport links to Thailand poor (although if going overland to Pattaya, by far the worst delays and general incompetence where on the Thai side) .

Can't wait. A trip to an unspoilt beach (so few of those around the world, eh?) with no boys to fuck, followed by a tuk-tuk ride at 7am so I can catch a taxi to get a bus to go to Pattaya - where the boys actually are.
