    Hi,
There was a plan to upgrade the tracks and start running trains again within Cambodia but the consortium doing it have halted work temporarily. In any case, the first line to be reinstated would be the Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville line and would be mostly freight. The only other current line in Cambodia is the Phnom Penh to Battambong line which is years away from running trains.
There are currently no plans to run track to the border or to Siem Reap.
Flying is the easiest way of getting to Cambodia, and the price is coming down as flights increase. BKK-REP flights used to be the monopoly of Bangkok Airways and were expensive, however Cambodia Angkor Air now fly that route for about half the cost and from Bangkok Don Muaeng Air Asia fly to REP for even less. There is now also a 'direct' bus from Mo Chit which leaves at 9:00 and arrives in Siem Reap roughly around 16:00 and costs $25.
Air Asia also have cheap flights to both PNH and REP from KL.
    Cheers
