    Tourist Court

Apparantly a new tourist court opens in Pattaya soon, to deal with tourists complaints.

I predict the queues will stretch all the way to Na Jomtien. This will be followed by touts promising those at the back they can get them a priority pass to the front of the queue for a small remuneration. Having taken the money the tout will disappear. After four hours the tourist will get to the front of the queue and make their complaint, the face of the official both sympathetic and shocked at his countrymens' terrible behaviour. The tourist will then attempt to make a second complaint, this time about the tout who cheated them. The smiling official will tell them that only one complaint can be heard per visit and the tourist will have to join the queue if they wish to make a second one. If they do this a tout will appear and promise.............

Quite and can't really blame you for being quite so cynical, but if it does work, simply having the ability to even have this as a threat might put off more extreme rip-off attempts, and if the Pattaya media publicise any successes from the court for tourists.......word might fitler down. At least it's an attempt by Pattaya officials to recognise there is somewhere tourists need some kind of redress.

I've certainly seen more than a few tourists who deserve to end up in court.
