    Vietnam: Guidance Requested

    Hi Guys,

Oct-Nov, I'll be visiting Sapa, Hanoi, Hue, Hoi-an, Saigon (HCMC), and the Mekong delta. Got the impression so far from my web research that there're no venues for active fun, and very few ads for rent/money boys. Would very much appreciate info and tips.

    Beyond this general request:
    1) Some months ago a forum member here suggested using vietfun.com through its the link for videofun. However, I couldn't locate the next link for "gay". Was it taken off? Did I miss something??
    2) Do masseurs at Ami Spa really go for extras? If so, is it 'just' happyendings or can it proceed to more interaction?
    3) On one hand I read boys could be picked up at certain locations (e.g. the lake in Hanoi). On the other hand, apparently they can't be taken to a hotel and it's too dangerous to go with them. So, what's to be done?
    4) There are no ads for escorts on Gay Romeo, but there're more than 100 users. I'm 55 yo and don't hold special attratctions for the young and handsome. Is it ok to ask them about sex-for-pay. I'm unfamiliar with GR etiquette...

Thanks in advance for as much guidance as possible.

Ami spa masseurs provided a very energetic and erotic massage, with happy ending and nothing more. Well, that's how it was a couple of years ago.
They were some very fit young lads. In their underpants for most of the performance.

That was the best action I got in the country.

I've been only three times to Vietnam, so I am no professional, but if you are looking for easy sex you should stay in Thailand. The gay scene is very hidden, I only go out with vietnamese friends, as without a guide it's hard to find the interesting places (which are changing every year). In Saigon NADAM SPA is a very very good place. The massage was even better than many in Thailand, but don't expect more action than a happy ending. There were also some money boys in NADAM SPA. In Saigon they have some really cool clubs for the young, hot, gay and rich vietnamese. My friend was with me in the hotel room, that was no problem. But in the internet cafe I logged in at Gayromeo and the employee told me to finish because this is not permitted in Vietnam...lol

Gay scene in Hanoi is even smaller. Maybe you can take your Thai BF with you.

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

The gay scene in Vietnam is, as mentioned by Magnum very hiddden , I have lived in Vietnam for 2 years and I know what I am talking about. There is a weird law which forbids Vietnamese to stay in the same hotel room with a foreigner after 10 pm. So if you really want to spend the night with a Vietnamese in a hotel he would have to rent another room. I have a close --Australien--friend who is married to a Vietnamese lady and though they are both in their late sixties he has to carry their certification of marriage with him in order to be allowed to sleep in one room. Some hotels allow Vietnamese to see foreigners in their rooms but then they have to leave their ID at the reception ,after 10pm the Vietnamese have to go. I was in hotels where even this was not allowed and you had to meet your friend at the reception. On the other hand there are hotels which have more liberal ideas or good relations to the police. I talked to guys on GR and asked them , just for interest, if they knew these hotels and the answer was always, yes , no problems. Vietnamese are quite pragmatic and you can ask directly. There is a well known place in Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake where you can find hustlers all the day, just have a seat at a bench..be sure you will be approached soon. But it is always..."ayor". It can be a nice, maybe gay student who wants to practice his English and something more or just a hustler who wants to get you to a karaoke place etc....I would highly recommend to find a guy on GR and ask him which hotel to book etc. In Saigon I would recommend; godmothersaigon.com It is a gay bar near the backpackerarea and a gay guesthouse as well. I was at this bar last April and witnessed some Viet/Farang couples there , some disappeared discreetely to the rooms upstairs for a while. I saw a few"lonely" young Vietnamese customers as well. Unfortunately I was at this place with 2 straight friends...so..no way. By the way.... there were some Vietnamese boys working in Soi Twilight in August...I took out one of them several nights. Without going into details...if there was a similar scene in Vietnam like in Thailand I would never need a single Baht again in my life. Anh hieu , khong? Anyway , good luck

Thanks Searcher for your detailed - though depressing - post. With your permission, one follow-up question:

How do I consult the locals on Gay Romeo? There aren't any escorts listed, and I didn't find a chat room. Do I just randomly email guys on the users list (More than 100)?

Hi there, a quick look at GR showed lots of Vietnamese who offer "massage" and are quite open about their "job"...many of them with pictures. I even remembered one who has worked in Singapore then. Why not just get in touch with one of them and ask for advice about hotel etc. ?

    Thanks Searcher; I'll do that.

Actually I've already started doing that. Two problems: there are more than 4,000 users; and there's no "area" classification. In the first 150, found only one explicit "moneyboy" and no "massage". I'll keep looking; "seek and you shall find."

    Thanks again.

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

I agree action is difficult to find in Vietnam. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and Singapore all seemed much easier in this respect.

The way to deal with the lack of specific areas in Gay Romeo is to change your location to the proposed city, then you can search. Or open another account, with location in the proposed city.
Having said that, outside of Pattaya, finding a moneyboy on Gay Romeo requires lots of time searching and very few satisfactory dates.

I do recommend a visit to Ami spa.

OMG! I do not know how you search. I just went to the Vietnam page of GR...limited the age with 28years, clicked on "Asian" and found 6 (six) guys on the very first page who offer massage or offer their services as moneyboys ! BTW" Lam viec moneboy" means ...I work as a moneyboy. The boys live in Saigon, Da Nang, Hanoi etc.

Thank you Searcher - yet again - for your patience. Now I got it. And as Goji werote, it IS time-consuming.
