will be in Saigon over the Tet newyear in 2013..what to do..I work there oftin and come down and get bored.
All the boys have left for home to be with mama?
What do to..I log onto Gayromeo and find mostly money boys...I offer money but guess I never pay what they are asking.
Most want 50 US for short time. Thats a weeks wages in Vietnam on the average..so anyone know what to pay the little

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

I was in hotels where even this was not allowed and you had to meet your friend at the reception. On the other hand there are hotels which have more liberal ideas or good relations to the police. I talked to guys on GR and asked them , just for interest, if they knew these hotels and the answer was always, yes , no problems. Vietnamese are quite pragmatic and you can ask directly. There is a well known place in Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake where you can find hustlers all the day, just have a seat at a bench..be sure you will be approached soon. But it is always, "ayor". It can be a nice, maybe gay student who wants to practice his English and something more or just a hustler who wants to get you to a karaoke place etc, I would highly recommend to find a guy on GR and ask him which hotel to book etc..........................................

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

When I moved to Saigon in 1999, the usual procedure was to find a boy, often at the gay nights of Samson Disco (now defunct), then go to a short time hotel in the back packers area to get a room for an hour or two. I did have a couple of guys back to my apartment but that was not well thought of by the manager. As far as I know, the short time hotels, which any of the GR guys will know, are strill your best bet in Saigon.

Though it happens less frequently these days, police often made visits to private homes and/or hotels to make sure there was no one who was not registered. Even staying past midnight at the home of a friend or relative required registration with the local plice. That is one reason why some hotels require visitors to leave at 10pm. The other reason is that they don't want to encourage prostitution. But as said, the short time "hourly rate" places should suit one's needs.

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

A friend who served with the Army in Vietnam, returned before Xmas and toured and said he had no trouble with gay company.
He used gayromeo ,set his target under 24 and posted his info in as visitor, 6 weeks before leaving.

He said he had millions of contacts which suggests he got a lot of replies

He broke down his replies to

Hanoi. Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang. He included touring and got some interesting replies.

He missed out on boys in Hue, Dong Nai and Haiphong because of the time they were available, and his companion. There were a few others.

I recommend putting yourself in as a visitor and tell them where you will be, what you are looking for and an idea of price.
If you are touring north like him, place where you plan to be and the dates.

There was a problem with dates, which he said he had to add a day to his trip each end to get right.

    Hope this is of help

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

    Hi
Too late for the original request for information but I am 59 and a very average UK gay man.
I have visited Vietnam about 10 times in the last 5 years.
Night spots come and go very quickly so you do need local knowledge.
I admit that I have never rented or paid for sex. Do presents count ?
I have found plenty of great younger men who want anything from friendship to sex without being paid although I do pay for meals and drinks.
Hotels vary amazingly. Sanouva is great and convenient. As I get to know my friends in Vietnam first then in most other hotels I book them in as a guest for an overnight stay.
Does mean I move around a bit though
Godmother is OK and totally relaxed about guests but the accommodation is poor and not very clean. OK to meet and a quicky I suppose.
VietSingle has plenty of gay men listed and some are rent with phone numbers but many are just great friendly younger men who want to enjoy time with you.
New gay hotel in Saigon is Pink Tulip hotel but I have yet to stay there.
Hanoi is more conservative but a couple of cheaper popular hotels in the old quarter have very friendly young male staff who are happy to help you enjoy your stay
I recommend Vietnam as a great place

    Hanoi Zspa report

It's hard to hook up in Vietnam?? For somebody who doesn't speak local language, I find it quite easy (not as easy as Thailand for sure, though). I've been to Mexico a lot lately, very few MB speak English there, and most insists to communicate over phone before meeting, not over emails for some reasons. It's pretty hard for somebody like myself not fluent in Spanish and not having a Mexican SIM. I don't find any gay massage parlors or brothels.

Back to Hanoi, I found Zspa http://www.zspa.com.vn through http://www.asiaotokoyu.com/bbs_1.htm (in Japanese), it has some upto date info of Hanoi and many others in Thailand. One of the posts there said Zspa is owned by the same owner of Ami Spa.

When I went there 4 on Sunday, there were 2 Vietnamese customers waiting at the waiting room. The staff told me only VIP room is available. I know it's only $6 more, but my economic sense is quite already adjusted to Vietnamese standard, I told him that I'll be back later. I even suspected this was a plot for let a foreigner buys a more expensive room. There were so many overcharging going on here, it's sad that I turned to be over-defensive. I went for some eat, came back an hour later, now a standard room was available. Upstairs, about 10 masseurs standing by, I picked Ken, who had a nice chest. Once in the room, he told me to take off clothes, and gave me a key for valuables. Safe box on the wall was the size of a thick dictionary. He told me to go take shower. Shortly after I started taking shower, he joined me, and started washing me all over....nice.

Back to the room, he started massaging. I'm not an expert of massage, but it was a lot better and cheaper than one I had in Seminyak, Bali. He also used hot stones. about 40 minutes past, he put his towel on the window of the door, that's the sign it's happy ending time! He put a condom on me, started sucking, and we went into 69. I told him 'Let's fuck', he lubed my already condom'ed cock and his hole. I fucked him doggy style: his cock was hard all the time. I wanted to get fucked, too, but soon as I pulled my cock out, he went limp. I guess he's a bottom. Like other posters said, there's no negotiation of price beforehand. When you're in Rome, do as Romans do.

When it's done, he took me to shower again, washed me, then told me to go back to the room. I get dressed, he came back with the bill. VND250,000 for 60 min of 'massage', and tip amount that I fill in, and pay the total at the reception. Guys on asiaotokoyu said standard tip is around 200,000-250,000. The menu you're given at the reception says all the courses include a happy ending. I was happy with the massage and our happy ending, so I tipped 350k. The total came to 550k, or around U$25. Tell me where else I can get a good massage and a fuck for this cheap! Previously mentioned Ami Spa is way out in the west, very few travelers stay, so I doubt I'll go there. I'm sure I'll be back to Zspa a few more times before my vacation ends.

Please tell me more about Hanoi, and central Vietnam like Hue, Danang, and Hoian if you know. Thanks.

    Re: Vietnam: Guidance Requested

Just visited Hanoi for Tet, probably not the best time to go as many of the bars/restaurants are closed and the boys all go home. I still managed to find sufficient naughty fun to keep me satisfied.
Polar Spa had about six boys and Ami-Spa had four. Hanoi Mania only had one but he was quite something.
Hanoi has about 6 Massage places in total but several of them are owned by the same person.

Hi QueueDeCastor, thanks for the link to asiatokyo.com - very useful. But I couldn't find any info on there for Vietnam. Lots for Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan...but nothing for Vietnam that I could see....

I am interested in info for HCMC/Siagon - do you have any more useful tips?
