I don't think they are necessarily gay, just more "flexible" in their sexuality

Yeah, I have the same feeling. No difference in the %'s of gays / bis, but just about how open / suppressed people are regarding their sexuality. If the West was as open towards gay people as Thailand is, I'm sure you'd see far more gay people in the West.
