That's nice but ranking highly for "Gay SE Asia" doesn't hold any value because almost no one searches for "Gay SE Asia". :8(

Enter the keywords here to see it gets nothing: https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

On the other hand, there's an average of 165,000 global monthly searches for "Gay Asia", which is another reason why I think the forum should be renamed "Gay Asia".

You also get significant search volume for specific country and city oriented search phrases like, "gay Cambodia, "gay Phnom Penh", "gay KL", "gay Malaysia", "gay Taiwan", gay Taipei" and "gay Hong Kong", ranging from 1,000 to 50,000 global monthly searches.

Add on terms for specific services or amenities and you also get significant volume for phrases like "Hong Kong gay bar", "Hong Kong gay spa" and "Taipei gay bar" etc. You an apply this to most major countries and cities in Asia and to services like "gay hotels", "gay spas", "gay bars", "gay discos", "gay nightclubs" and "gay saunas".

I'm not an expert on search engines so someone else will probably know more about this but this gives you the gist of it...

If you can be intuitive in putting these kind of "first to mind" search terms in your thread titles (and forum titles) you'll draw a heap more traffic. Really simple stuff.

Here's some examples of threads, which achieved high search rankings for stuff that actually gets searched for! :drv:

This Phnom Penh thread I wrote: any-other-country-f15/phnom-penh-cambodia-trip-report-t20485.html

    - Ranks 4 when you search "gay Phnom Penh"

    - Ranks 6 when you search "gay bar Phnom Penh"

    - Ranks 7 when you search "gay massage Phnom Penh"

    - Ranks 7 when you search "gay nightlife Phnom Penh"

    - Ranks 10 when you search "gay spa Phnom Penh"

    - Ranks 11 when you search "gay nightclub Phnom Penh"

    --

This Siem Reap thread I wrote: any-other-country-f15/gay-siem-reap-cambodia-trip-report-t20493.html

    - Ranks 9 when you search "gay Siem Reap"

    - Ranks 10 when you search "gay nightlife"

    - Ranks 14 when you search "gay bar Siem Reap"

Put the above search terms into Google and see for yourself.

The Phnom Penh thread, which (from a cursory glance) seems to have better search rankings has had 2,500 views while the Siem Reap one with poorer search rankings has only had 1,662. So you can see how important good, relevant search rankings are.

This thread - any-other-country-f15/gay-kuala-lumpur-anyone-been-t18420.html - is getting page 1 search rankings for "gay KL " and "gay Kuala Lumpur".

    --

"Gay Singapore" gets a whopping 50,000 global monthly searches and we haven't got anything near the top because the last few posters who started threads on Singapore didn't put "gay" in the thread title. Gay bars, saunas and hotels in Singapore also attract significant search volume.

We don't have anything ranking well for gay Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam or Japan.

We have several threads with page 1 rankings for "gay Laos" thanks to Kquill and A447.
    I'm done! :hello2:

True but again, the number of people searching for that is zero or negligible so it doesn't matter at all.
