Expenses holiday 28.07.2011-15.08.2011 Bangkok Pattaya Chiang Mai

Here my complete expenses for the most recent holiday in Thailand. All numbers are Thai Baht. Writing down expenses serves many purposes: I know where my money went and I can reconstruct most of my holiday from this data. I have papers of A4 format folded twice so they fit into my pocket. Of course, you have to know where to start writing so after unfolding itтАЩs well arranged (when I started, I had text upside down after unfolding). Compared to a notebook this has the advantage that you donтАЩt have to flip pages, itтАЩs easier to copy or to scan and I can lay it out so I can everything at one glance. Here is one example of one of these sheets:



As no times are on the sheets, here some general information: getting up usually between 10am and 2pm, going to bed usually between midnight and 4am. Meals are spread over the whole day, I eat whenever I am hungry, usually street food when IтАЩm alone ore in restaurants when IтАЩm with friends. For the overnight trips by train to Chiang Mai and back to Bangkok, I checked out of the hotel at noon, left my luggage at the reception and pickt it up at night, so I economized two nights. However, activities during that day are limited as there is no chance to shower and change clothes before boarding the train.

A total of 50672 THB spent on 18 nights and 17 full days which is 2815 THB per night.
This is less than usual (~4000 THB per night), due to rain and lack of boys who are my type or failure to hold those who are my type for activities on the following day.

Getting to Thailand was 942 EUR for return flight plus twice 12 EUR public transport to and from airport is 966 EUR which is about 40600 THB.

I wish I had the patientsтАЩ to write down all the money I have spent in Thailand over the years, IтАЩm sure it would go into millions of pounds not baht.....I was sitting on a plane once coming home from a trip form Brazil when the man and lady had a big fight as he was trying tot up exactly what he and his girlfriend had spent, she thought it was a very mean way of enjoying there vacation, he went mad because she forget to tell him she had bought a Hand Bag she was carrying, he had not seen before, so may be I can see how some guys could be put off by the attention to detail.

Its the small things that add up, as we can see, but I notice you never skimped on things and was quite prepared to pay the going rate off in Bangkok of 1500 baht, something that would horrify most guys who live in Pattaya, if they can get away with 500 baht they think that is to much in some cases, I know many guys who will go up to 700 baht, but who always have change, I have only ever paid 1000 baht as I cant be bothered to get change, although I did pay a boy 500 baht once who decided he was not up for having sex with a guy, it was his first time and he had a cock like a horse, it was such a wind up, as he was so good looking, in the end he would not even let me touch his mammoth portion, I went back to the TOYBOYs bar I met him and No they would not give me back my off fee, he left after that.
