Transitbangkok.com - Bangkok Public Transport Guide

    Anyone used http://www.transitbangkok.com before?

It's an online guide to public transport in Bangkok. It's kind of handy.

Has all the Skytrain, MRT, public bus and river ferry routes and schedules in one place.

Plus, it has a basic trip planner running off Google Maps. You enter your "from" address and "to" destination and it maps out all the train/bus/ferry connections you need to get there.

It's cleaner looking than the two links I've been using on the site up to now, so it's worth adding.
The others are the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority and the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company, Limited.
    ( http://www.bmta.co.th/en/index.php and http://www.bts.co.th/en/index.asp )

Not sure where you read about this one, but thanks for sharing the link.

    WARNING re this transitbkk site!
(hey beachy-cannot afford the taximeter anymore? want really to sit in some hot bus without really knowing where it goes to? change mind? lost purse? or are you after some hot encounters in those overcrowded buses-they happen often))
It is based on stuff some 10 years old. That does not mean it is always out of date, as many buslines did not change since 30 years, but:
a.it will list buslines that have vanished since
b.it will not list very useful buslines having strated since
c.it only works for the central part of BJKK and will not work for outer areas-not even Bangkapi
It also seems to have a strange habit in the route planner to always send you into some form of MRT/BTS-thus having you to change more-even in cases where there is a simple direct busroute.
the bmta www is about useless-you have to know which garage runs some route before you can find the routing. it is also only upadted about once a year and changes do happen more frequently. Many buslines are run by independant ''rot ruam'' and their changes hardly ever get noted.
(I happen to know the Japanese guy who once made that original www.bangkokbusmaps.com-now a facebook or so page-his stuff got ransacked by the Swedes that made this www).

I've been using this site as a reference for a couple of years and wish he (and RQD) would begin posting again. He posts clear directions - many times with photos for clarification - and puts his interest in public transportation to good use. He also has an interesting post about Laos ( http://thaitransit.blogspot.com/2010...iane-laos.html ).

Haha... Thanks for the warning, Pong. I guess there isn't ANY all encompassing, reliable and up to date public transport guide for Bangkok.

Noooo... Never caught a bus in Bangkok before to be honest. Only ever done skytrain/MRT, ferries and taxis/tuk tuks. Just thought the info might be helpful. :happy7:

Ironic as those sites are government/provider sites while this is a commercial site funded by advertisements!
