    Indeed.
Who amongst us can forget her majestic performance as Pearl Slaghoople in The Flintstones (1994)
In that film she received her highest salary ever for a movie role ... $2.5 million.
I almost forgot about her role in The Flintstones. I'm embarrassed to admit that I still have that campy movie in my catalog. I might check it out this week.

When she started getting involved in AIDS activism I began to take real notice of Ms. Taylor. I admired her for her willingness to help bring much needed attention to the epidemic when others considered AIDS taboo or the problem of "those other kind of people". Before that, she was just another actress my parents talked about.

Elizabeth Taylor's performance in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" must rank as her best. Furthermore, I think the film is one of the ten best ever made in cinematic history.

And if that isn't enough, it stands as a warning for all posterity to the demonic nature of monogamy and the institution of marriage.

"You take the trouble to construct a civilization, to build a society based on the principles of... of principle. You make government and art and realize that they are, must be, both the same. You bring things to the saddest of all points, to the point where there is something to lose. Then, all at once, through all the music, through all the sensible sounds of men building, attempting, comes the Dies Irae. And what is it? What does the trumpet sound? Up yours." -From Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?

    Remembering Elizabeth Taylor...

I was once lucky enough to have met her in London and she was the most beautiful woman I have ever seen... those eyes were incandescent.

I saw this on the internet. She apparently requested that her coffin be delivered 15 minutes late to her own funeral...I laughed so hard. It sounds like the woman was quite funny.
