Marriage equality in Australia... we're almost there!

The campaign for same sex marriage / marriage equality in Australia is building momentum rapidly.

It's fantastic! I can't wait for this to be achieved.

As a by product, I think this campaign and the constant presence of this issue in the news is doing a lot of good for attitudes to gays here. Australian society will become more familiar with and accepting of gays as a result of this campaign.

Here's the site for the campaign in Australia: http://www.australianmarriageequality.com

How beautiful is this viral ad? (From: http://www.getup.org.au/campaigns/marri ... -and-share

It shows so beautifully, the average week in the life of a gay couple in Sydney... chilling out after work, going out on the weekend, going to the beach, visiting the family, going shopping... so nice!

Really easy for average Australians to relate to. Love it!

PRIME Minister Julia Gillard has told three same-sex couples she believes laws allowing them to marry in Australia are inevitable.

Ms Gillard and partner Tim Mathieson hosted the couples at The Lodge last night. She told them the growing number of countries legislating in favour of the issue is placing increasing pressure on politicians to support reform.

You're confusing the proposed "same-sex" marriage with self-marriage.
