Siem Reap gay hotel

Hi, I;m looking for a nice gay hotel where I can bring back "friends" without paying a joiner fee. Do such places exist??

Also, what is the best way to get from Phnom Penh to Seam Reap? I've read that the boats aren;t very good. Has anyone gone by bus? One with air conditioning and a bit of comfort?

I stayed in the Golden Banana and had no trouble with "joiners". Same same as a Thai hotel - ID card needed at the desk, no charge made. I made a post about it:

I travleed by bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap. Aircon, perfectly comfortable, one stop along the way. Took, from memory, 5 or 6 hours and cost $10. Quite an interesting journey too. Best to book a day or two in advance. The VIP aircon ones do sell out. I didn't try the boats because it takes longer, is not that interesting - you are away from the shore of the Tonle Sap most of the time, so just just see a lot of brown water - and they have a poor reputation for safety standards.

If you do take the bus you can buy a tuk-tuk voucher on board to take you from the bus station to your hotel. I'd advise taking advantage of this because the tuk-tuk touts in Siem Reap are buggers - they'll take you all over town trying to persuade you to go into a hotel where they get a "commission". Especially important if you are likely to arrive after dark, because the bus station in Siem Riep is down an unlit side street - you can't see the back of your hand, so you'd have a problem if you didn't know the city.

I'm sure you'll love Siem Riep. I did.

besides dozens of "gay friendly" hotels which have opened in the last years,
there is still only one gay hotel in Cambodia: MEN's Resort & Spa.

MEN's is a great "exclusively for men" hotel. They will not ask you that your "free joiner" should discreetly disappear before breakfast as other "tolerant" hotels are used to.

at MEN's you can also meet some local guys and other tourists who are joining the Sauna/Spa in the evening.

The massages are excellent. The swimming pool is huge !

You should have a look to the website: www.mens-resort.com, it is absolutly the place to go for gay travellers.



If you are travelling with girls or if you are afraid to go in a men exclusive Resort, you can go to one of dozens gay-friendly hotels in Siem Reap. But most of them are also kids & family friendly, so it's not sure you will feel comfortable when you'll go with joiner even if hotels management accept that.

I stayed at the Golden Banana in 2006 and really liked it. Friendly staff and a small swimming pool. I took the bus from SR to PP and found it an okay experience - booking a day before is a good idea.

hi every one, flights booked
As i said before i stayed last year in river queens, it was ok, but on my way to pub street, i popped into a hotel on the main road on the leftl, not far from river queens and near the road junction.
they had a pool and the price was the same as river queen,s, i picked up a card with all the detaols etc, but now cant find it. By any chance do anybody know the hoyel im going on about, they have a car park at the front, so you have to walk up to the recption from the road through the car park

so maybe male joiner fee is free hahahahahahahhaah
hotel looks good with pool and close to every thing and same price as the river queen hotel
so i think the 5 $ a guest is worth it

Rambutan Hotel and Resort тАУ Siem Reap. I can see the room I occupied last visit in their photo.

There actually were 4 hotels in this lane all called Golden Banana

Haggle. Send them an e-mail back staying you will stay there if they agree to allow joiners with no fee.
