    I'm over Pattaya

I've never met such racist people as the Thais. I'm black and they turn up their noses at me. I couldn't find a drag queen to "top" me even though everyone told it it would be really easy. I'm never going back.

Well, if you're the real Sooty you've had a fist up your arse for the last 61 years. No wonder nobody would fuck you.

Maybe Sweep will give you a wank if you ask him.

I think it might be more (natural) personal preference than deliberate racism.

Ask Buck N Away for advice... he's black right?

Its trueтАж most Thai people refer to blacks as that тАЬChocolate guyтАЭ The Thai boys I know stay clear of Chocolate guys and Indians from India. They are a bit racists, but remember where they adopt this attitude from. They see Blacks as coming from Africa and working the jobs that Thais donтАЩt want to do.. Cleaning bathrooms, streets, doing dishes, garbage cans ectтАжтАж If you can pull it off without looking ridiculousтАж.. You may want to dress slightly Hip-Hop or Euro Hip there is more respect given in the eyes of Thais if your not from the south, Muslim, Burma, India ect. . One other important note, unlike in America, there is no guilt in being a racist. Therefore no need to pander to certain classes.

Garbage by the OP and garbage in the responses. Since when did Africans take jobs Thai don't want to do? How many Africans are working as garbage collectors or toilet cleaners? Zero is my guess. And I've never yet heard a Thai refer to a black person as "chocolate" but most often as "Konh peu dum" (a black skinn d person). If your uneducated money boy friends talk like that then you've made a poor choice of friends. Thais do see white skin as more beautiful than black skin, a well known fact.
The fact that the OP coundn't get a drag queen to top him probably says as much about his manners and behaviour as it does about his chosen sexual partner.

Given their innate jingoism and the deeply inculcated pride in their heritage, I don't think it occurs to any Thais to relate themselves to people of African descent. They are not, therefore, using those whitening creams to distinguish themselves from Africans. Rather, I've always understood that the popularity of those cosmetics is less a symptom of racism than of simple inter-Thai class snobbishness. Making your skin look less dark prevents, so buyers of whitening creams think, any suspicion that they might be Isaan peasants who've been working long hours in the fields harvesting rice (no doubt with the help of the proverbial sick buffalo) and thus acquiring that characteristic deep mahogany sun-tan.

However, the OP is correct that the Thais are also an intrinsically race-aware and racist society. And, pace FOF above, I regularly hear Thais referring to black people as "chocolate": a friend of mine who is a frequent customer for DVDs on Jomtien beach is, because of his specialised taste in such things, regularly approached by hawkers offering him DVDs of porn featuring, as they tell him, "chocolate" men.

Hence we ought to wish for peace, to seek it if we do not already have it, to conserve it once it is attained, and to repel with all our strength the strife which is opposed to it. To this end individual[s]... and in even greater degree groups and communities are obliged to help one another... from the bond or law of human society." Is "chocolate" more offensive than "black" or "brown" or "yellow" or "white"?

Marianne Faithful was once known as Chocolate Woman, but that was not to do with the colour of her skin, but with what she was allegedly doing with a Mars Bar.

If it's any consolation, it's not just the Thais that don't like you.
