The reason you cant find those Beach Bungalows advertised is, they were washed away in a very Large Wave (see pic below) a few Boxing Days ago, not the sort of place I'd want to stay.

Patong Beach Bungalows was rebuilt and operating at the beginning of this year. If you wouldn't want to stay there, then it only adds to the attraction.

No, that artists's impression is definitely not of Patong. At no time have there ever been highrise buildings like those depicted close to the beach.

Well, it has been a few months since I was last in Patong. I suppose it is possible that they have built a six-lane beachside highway since I was there last. LOL.

Oh, yeah...and perhaps they ordered cars to drive on the right-hand side of the road in Phuket province, rather than on the left. Tee hee hee.
