America's new religions

A thoughtful article by Andrew Sullivan on the role of religion in modern society recently featured in the New York magazine - http://nymag.com/intelligencer/2018/...religions.html

In the old Communist parlance, when it comes to religion I'm a fellow traveler rather than a believer, but I find religious insights useful, especially the notion that, since the likelihood that there is a God is improbable the kingdom of Heaven (after death) should be replaced with the concept of the republic of Heaven (in this life)
