Re: Practical advise on Exchange rate / SIM Cards / Transport
Just arrived. Rates today to change pounds sterling to baht. Superrich and Happyrich 42 near the BKK airport rail link. About 7% worse at the exchange booths on the upper floors of the airport. X One on Surawong website says 42.37 for £50 notes. I will go there later.

Not to hijack this thread... but some exchanges rates have been very bizarre. Laos stands out. anyone going to visit Laos? (vs USD) https://www.theglobaleconomy.com/ran...exchange_rate/

I found it almost impossible to exchange my Laos notes for Thai cash in Pattaya. Advice; change on departure from Laos..
Re: Practical advise on Exchange rate / SIM Cards / Transport
The exchange rate just went over 38 THB to the USD yesterday.
Just like the old days.
Keep going baby!

I expect similar for Cambodia, but there you have the advantage that you can pay everything in USD and get only change in KHR and are left with little or no KHR. Out of curiosity, where or how did you exchange you LAK? If everything else fails, there are plenty of Lao boys who could exchange your LAK.

The rate at the Superrich at the airport, downstairs near the airport rail link, is usually ok ish. The rate at X One on Surawong will probably be a little better. Just avoid all the fx booths upstairs at the airport.
