Boeing 737 Was Plunging at 350MPH in Moments Before Crash in China with 132 Aboard

A Boeing 737 airliner with 132 people aboard has crashed into a mountainous area in southern China in what looks set to be the country’s most deadly plane crash for decades.

The aircraft, on a flight from the city of Kunming to Guangzhou, slammed into a thick forest of bamboo on a hillside in Guanxi province. Thick smoke and huge flames could be seen rising on a video posted by the South China Morning Post but it was unclear whether the was already a fire in the area.

Tracking data showed the aircraft cruising at 29,100 feet at 2.20 p.m. Some two minutes later it had dropped to just over 9,000 feet and 20 seconds after that to just 3,225 feet. FlightRadar said that indicated a vertical descent of 31,000 feet per minute—or around 350 mph.

Another video circulating on social media, the authenticity of which The Daily Beast could not immediately verify, appeared to show the aircraft streaking into the ground in a nose-down vertical position. U.S. government-backed Radio Free Asia reported that the video was captured by CCTV at a mine.

There is speculation on some Western news sites this afternoon that it was some form of sabotage (including a deliberate act by one of the pilots) rather than mechanical failure (as in the MAX crashes

Singapore: A leading air crash investigator says foul play should be at the top of the list for authorities investigating the crash of China Eastern Airlines flight MU5735, after the flight’s almost vertical descent matched the fate of two previous disasters.
Michael Daniel, who worked on investigations into Egypt Air flight 990 and SilkAir flight 185, which were both deliberately crashed by the pilot - according to the US National Transportation Safety Board - also had “very quick, very sudden and straight” dives straight into the ground.

The available data does not show a straight dive into the ground.

It shows descent form the normal descent point which became erratic with turns to the left and the right through about 50 degrees.

At about 8000 the aircraft recovered from the descent and actually climbed about 1000 feet or more before entering a final dive.

Investigators have only just arrived at the scene...give them a chance.

It's highly unusual for an aircraft to dive vertically as shown in the CCTV. Normally only a pilot could cause such a steep nose dive, as the control surfaces would make it virtually impossible - unless one or more of those surfaces (most likely at the rear of the aircraft) jammed for whatever reason.

It suggests pilot suicide.

Let's wait for the results of the investigation. Should be fascinating.

Either that or the stewardess mistakenly gave the pilot one of those crappy boxed meals they serve passengers on those short-haul Chinese flights and he died from shock.

if it was suicide I really do hbope there is a hell...what a selfish way of going...
