Just want to make sure I understand this correctly.
They built the island ?
Built from scratch and installed all those trees without staking (dodgy), but with the weeds ?

Well I don't know about staking but yes, the last time I passed by there was no island there. There were some strange articles. Quite large cylindrical shaped objects made of semi shaved wood. I wondered what they were for, now I know. And all done in a few days. Remarkable.
Of course there might be some structure under the water that I couldn't see before. The Chinese have a habit of draining lakes and then filling them in again. In another part of the lake there is a long crescent shaped wall that goes right out from the bank so who knows what that was at one time.
Dancing. Drunk. Happy. The guy in white is my host.
the chinese can do amazing but disorientating things...like tearing down a couple of buildings in a high density part of shanghai and building a park complete with mature 5 meter high tress within a monthg...one wanders down a road and suddenly ones fav noodle shop(hole in the wall) is gone, replaced by a park....like an alternate universe
Wise words. It reads...
