This ever happened to you?
I had had my eye on a boy in one of the BT bars for some time and found him in another popular bar the other day. He had moved. I offed him and went to a music bar for a few drinks. Paid him, as one would. Just drinks. No sex.
A day or two later he came to my room and I paid him again as I thought I would. Boom Boom.
Last night I met him after hours in a bar after he finished work and he refused any money even though he sat with me for at least 3 hours.
He walked me home and I offered motor bike money , again refused.
Am I being had?
I’m no virgin to this shit, but never came across this before!

There are some good ones out there you know, but be careful, the big question may come soon - "Can you give me money as mother in Hospital".
But go along with it, as I said there are some good guys out there?

Re: This ever happened to you?
yes,I’m sure the punch line is coming! Done all the mother Ill , buffallow die nonsence!
New one on me though!!
-
Re: This ever happened to you?
For me not unusual at all!
I presume that there was no sex on the third date and it was just a few drinks and a chat?
A lot of guys are happy just to go out and have a few paid for/sponsored drinks after work... in fact I'm usually the one dodging messages so I don't have too many come and join our table in NAB/Sinlapin/DJ/Karaoke etc after work
Of course he is possibly also playing the long game and hoping that some sort of long term sponsorship gig might come out it.
But if I was you I would just take it at face value i.e. the guy thinks you are nice to hang out with and doesn't need compensation for that time

Father's blood transfusion was a popular one several years ago

I tend to take people on face value and trust (hope?) they are not out to scam me.
Over the years I've only been asked for financial support for family members -mum can't pay her hospital bill, sister involved in car accident - on a few occasions. But I've heard stories from others, especially on the boards. It may be a case of a few bad apples. I find the vast majority of guys to be decent and honest.
But I went into my "relationships" with my two regular guys with my eyes wide open.
But I've known these guys for over 6 years and am yet to be asked for money for anything. I figure that if they were going to ask, they would have done so by now, especially as they are aware that there is no guarantee that I'll always come back.
So these types of guys are definitely out there. You just have to look for them.

Then I guess your comment must also refer to those members here who have formed long-term relationships with Thai guys. They must also be "naive".
Somehow I don't think they are.
And if my "friends" still haven't asked me for financial support after all these years, then I guess they are the ones who could be considered "naive."
Somehow I don't think they are.

Re: This ever happened to you?
It always surprises me how different gay falang experiences in Thailand can be. Over the twenty-two years that I've been a three-times a -year visitor, for eleven of those years a serial "offer" from bars, I've not encountered malicious and dishonest guys on the scene. I can remember, on the other hand, a guy telling me I was giving him "too much" despite the fact that I never pay above the average. And another one admitting he wasn't yet eighteen , despite what his ID said, before anything happened, thereby losing his tip and avoiding placing me in jeopardy.
No thefts from my room, no harassment for another date, no unkind words, no unpleasantness. I suppose I must have been lucky.

Not at all. I read your sex posts and they're all written in that breathless teenage style of "Can this really be happening to me!!!" That is the basis of my belief in your naivety. However your response is equally naive as, clearly, you are claiming to know the details of the intimate relationships of other people. I see arsenal who as we know relies entirely on prostitutes has "liked" your post which is a good indication of its value

As you are claiming to know the details of my "intimate relationships."

That's very insensitive of the boys. Don't they know that embalmed farang aren't capable of donating blood?

Your casual fucks described in detail on a public forum are intimate relationships now are they? I think that's up there with the poster who once claimed a long-term relationship was 12 months "because we're gay"

You've missed your calling. Should've gone into stand up instead of geronto-porn. :D

No, not them. Only you.

To be fair, he also buys them Sizzler steaks and a new pair of shoes every now and them. That makes it an intimate relationship.

I'm sorry, Blacktouch, I don't understand what you're saying - so if the guy, a sex worker, did ask for money, then he is a bad person? He is a "good guy" if he doesn't ask for money? To me, a sex worker is not bad for expecting to be renumerated for doing his job which could include spending time with his John, fucking him, listening to the John's incessant talking and BS or pretending to be in a three-day intimate relationship with the more naive and delusional Johns out there. And neither is the sex worker a "good guy" when he doesn't ask for money from time to time. Sex workers, like other people, are whole and complete human beings with multifaceted aspects to their personalities - it would take a lot more than taking or refusing money in the course of their work for anyone to be able to reasonably assess their individual characters.
In gerefan's case, it could be the guy just wanted to enjoy few free drinks with a John who's not bad to spend time with - nothing unusual in that. Or he could be throwing a sprat to catch a mackerel as others have speculated. Unless there is a serious follow up to this experience, I would just leave it at that.

I don't believe that's the issue at all. I've written previously about what I think a447's problem is and I'm not going to repeat myself. Sufficient to say that his fellow Moderator, christian, has outed himself as suffering from Asperger's

No.
I referred to "intimate relationship" in the exact same way I refer to the guys as "friends". That's not the same.
I'm surprised you of all people missed the subtle difference.

I seem to remember similar remarks from the group of ex priests and brothers that used to hang around the Sunee Bars, some 10 years ago.
Some seem to be still around.

Re: This ever happened to you?
I am similar to you. Many years offing from bars. I have not had any bad experiences either. Most boys seem really pleased if you give them a tip. After all for its not that much!

As I view you as having all the subtlety of a sledgehammer ...
