I find you completely wanting in every respect.Quote:

That's an interesting idea, and there is precedence:Quote:

What ??
Ah but Matt acknowledges when he doesn't know something, as your link makes clear.Quote:

Amazing, 17 pages of bullshit on alternatives to Western Union. Anyone not knowing "Shit from Shinola" would know how to transfer money to Thailand, other than Western Union. Let it die and get a life. :ymdevil:

Part of a poem by Mike Samford:
You are a homophone for the human race.
Are we not all homophones of each other?
A complacence to complaisance,
and effect to an affect, a tear to a tear,
the sole of a soul.
A homophone like you may be too
large a subject for one poem,
too complicated, too complex.
So, I will write about my cat instead,
a car ran over him yesterday
he is dead; and I have, in my fridge,
a half can of cat food in a plastic bag
useless and taking up space
and there is no homophone for that.

That's just Mike Hearn being an idiot again.
You can treat him the same as pubic lice. Kicking and screaming in pain until he dies, and becomes non-existent.
He and Gavin gambled, and they lost. Now they're bitter about it.
So none of the following is true?Quote:

Think about it. If you had never heard about Bitcoin before, would you care about a payments network that:

тАв Had wildly unpredictable fees that were high and rising fast
тАв Allowed buyers to take back payments theyтАЩd made after walking out of shops, by simply pressing a button (if you arenтАЩt aware of this тАЬfeatureтАЭ thatтАЩs because Bitcoin was only just changed to allow it)
тАв Is suffering large backlogs and flaky payments

IтАЩm going to hazard a guess that the answer is no.
False, false, false, false, somewhat true, somewhat true.
Mike and Gavin started something called "Bitcoin XT", and basically tried to hijack the entire currency / network. It failed miserably, and just so happens, Jan 2016 was their self-imposed deadline for the majority of users to switch over to "XT". Didn't happen in the slightest measure, so now they're acting like little kids, and throwing a fit. Just ignore him, he'll go away in time. You can expect bitcoin to continue humming along just fine though.
You really, really sure about this? I'm finding with just a cursory search a lot of people agreeing that all the above is happening, ie.Quote:

On these two points he's bitching about the block size. Yes, there's the POTENTIAL those two could happen, but not for the forseeable future, and the currently the network is humming along just fine. Those points are moot.Quote:

He's talking about RBF (reverse by fee), and that's not how it works. It's not like anyone can just reverse a transaction at any time of their choosing. He's fear mongering.Quote:

No, there's no backlogs or "flaky payments" (wtf that means). There is various stop measures already in place within the protocol to ensure you can't spam the network, if that's what he means by "flaky payments".Quote:

This is somewhat true, but again, fear mongering. The majority of mining companies are Chinese though, simply due to the cheaper electricity and lease rates compared to Western countries.Quote:

Again, fear mongering.Quote:

OK, remember, I'm relying on you and your promises that my bitcoins will be worth $1,500+ each by the middle of summer... or nothing. :)
