After an abortive trip to Utapao Airport (near PTYA) after my scheduled stay and then some, I checked back into my BKK El Cheapo. At the time I thought the allowance of 2000 baht/day only covered the room rate. At check out some days later may be 10, can't remember, they added up the bill and I was not charged anything at all. Whether they ever got any cash back who knows. All room charges, laundry, room service etc. free of charge. Pity we can't charge other activities to our hotel bills but then the local boys haven't got pockets big enough to carry an EFTPOS machine in them...Quote:

The law abiding people of Thailand -- those who are not participating in these thug-like shenanigans -- win.
They get their city back.
At this point in time nobody wins. The rallies are still on and now we have deaths and many injured. I can't see an end to it . I really did think that today (Sunday) people would start drifting back to their homes to enjoy Songkran but I have underestimated the hard liners among the Red Shirts. I have a bad feeling in my stomach (maybe just gas) that this is a trip to nowhere very good.Quote:

To all the expats there ... be vigilant and stay safe.
