Bar and restaurant closure in Bangrak last night.
Last night, Wednesday, the bars in Silom soi 4 and Patpong that have a restaurant service and actual restaurants were allowed by the local police to open with reduced seating arrangements. then suddenly at about 6:30 panic instructions for all businesses to close immediately. Apparently the BIB had heard that a 'big' reporter/ photographer would be touring the district to report. This included actual restaurants. A few yards away in Silom Road it was business as usual in restaurants and bars. The closed business were told that this might be for a few nights only or until the end of the month.
Re: Coronavirus - Thailand
South Korea has it under control due to lots of measures taken to control it. They have a very thorough testing regime. [Offsetting the negative effects of a few fuckwit religious cults]
I've also noticed that case numbers haven't really grown over the past few weeks in the warmer countries like Thailand, despite a few early infections.
However, in the last few days case numbers in Thailand have really picked up, despite higher temperatures and humidity. Perhaps they need less aircon.
Re: Coronavirus - Thailand
For what it's worth: here in Hua Hin all bars are on shut-down as of today. Not certain about restaurants or night markets yet (we were at the Grand night market yesterday). Not closed but not many customers either. From observation most other business are open.
In grand Thai form, a goodly number of bars are using the locked-door-but-not-locked-door scheme wherein the horny Farang just knocks on the closed door and is let in. :crazy_mini:
The owner of the only gay bar left standing may resort to that, but I'm not sure yet.

I can live with your ‘probably’, goji and can picture myself back here this time next year. After all, if it was good enough for Carlsberg, it should be good enough for me. :)

Eh? What’s that you say? Carslberg admitted that they are 'probably not' the best beer in world! Oh no! Why did you have to go and spoil it? Well, in that case, better take a rain check in meeting you all again this time next year. ;)

There were two last month, although I suppose Red Indian is hardly worthy of inclusion.

Ah! But, goji, as I believe Smiles can testify, the claim to fame of Red Indian Bar is that it employed one of the cutest and most glorious bubble-butt bar boys to walk the face of the Thai go-go bar scene. Sadly, I missed my opportunity, as I chose a hairy-butt boy in the belief that cute butt-boy would be available next time. But, by the time of my next visit, he was gone having, I believe, been conscripted into the Thai armed forces and, to my certain knowledge, he was never seen again on the go-go bar scene.
And, can you believe it, Arsenal* is being closed down? I never thought I’d see the day. :)

goji, this is for you: I wrote this post in 2009. Red Indian was fun way back then.
Beware ... slightly off topic. Lets hope Jelly gives some leeway as it appears that we are talking about the same ass!

This my friends, is an ass to travel for, a plane/bus/limo to catch for ... frankly, the most perfect derriere I'ver seen on a Thai guy ... "
As promised (and in response to the massive number of pathetic replies begging for 'A Name') I have done my duty for the Members of this board and can now ~ after intensive research ~ give the name attached to The Perfect Derriere: it is 'Nun' or 'Non' or (phonetically) 'Noon'. It was spelled for me as 'Nun', but my ear heard the sound of the long 'u' . . . thus more like 'noon'.
Just so as you do not think me overly cold or mercenary, I can also tell you that he is a very sweet guy, speaks some english (certainly enough to get by quite well in a host bar), handsome, and 20 years old.
Bob and I spent a very pleasant evening at Red Indian Bar sitting and drinking and talking with Nun and another (also very sweet) guy ~ who's name I forget ~ and it was probably the most easy-going and pressure-free time I've ever spent in a host bar anywhere in Thailand.
But to get down to specifics: Nun's Butt remains as luscious as one could hope for (see above), and he has an obvious natural sensuality with just the right level of underlying sexual desire to be, not pushy, but relaxingly pleasant company.
Off fee at Red Indian is 300 baht ... rest is 'up to you'.
Cheers ...
