Re: Pattaya’s Fight For Survival
...anyone who has spent time in China...I'm talking years and not weeks...will know that everything is allowed ...until its not...the law only applies when those in power decide that it does...and btw...the Chinese practically invented decadence so lets not pretend that we silly cave dwelling lawai introduced it to them...

Armando, rule 3.2.3 states, “Nudity is allowed [on the open forums], while visible images of a penis, anus or balls are not permitted.” It also states, "Links to pornographic websites may however be posted on the members only Holding Room." I therefore suggest you post a link to the inside of clubs that contain full nudity in the Holding Room.

These clubs seem mostly for wealthier Chinese who drop a lot of cash on booze and tips before sometimes taking boys off. The surprise for me is the full nudity in China! Presumably oodles of cash is transferred to the Chinese equivalent of the BIB.

Thanks for the information and the link. I downloaded it and will have a look, but with low expectation as in similar scholarly works there was little information that could be put into practical use.

For members who may have missed it, siscu58 has created a topic in the members’ only Holding Room with a link to the KTV Gay Clubs in China website.

Sorry Dodger, I no longer have them. I'll take a few on Sunday. In the meantime please feast your eyes upon these two handsome devil's who kindly entertained the crowd recently.

Arsenal, it shows the undesirable effect of the one-child policy.

What's the gay nightlife like in Seoul, given we are currently sentenced to only make plans for the future?

Certainly not as cheap as Pattaya and I'm sure there will be pressure to buy lots of drinks. But unless you speak Chinese the chances are you will not get past the front door.

Re: Pattaya’s Fight For Survival
I've asked 6 boys who've worked in KTV clubs and none of them has heard of these naked parades. They're going to be rarer than Panda on the dinner menu. Not never but very very infrequent and then only behind well locked doors.
Do I need to point out (again) that naked boy parades are nightly events in X-Boys, Nice Boys, Winner Boys (sort of) and when rhey were operating Eros, BBB, Goodboys

You are speaking in the present tense you should be phrasing this in the past tense.

If you bothered to read the guy’s thesis, you would have read that in Shanghai at the time of writing he knew of 4 of such KTV joints in the city, all situated well out of the city centre. So yes they are rare, but they exist in many cities. Of the major cities, only Beijing seems not to have any due to its proximity to the HQ of the equivalent of the Chinese Cultural Police!

I know we are all too nervous for not being able to travel to our beloved LOS. Please relax a little bit. Just to ease the mood have a look at the last Pattaya Bikini Beach Run. Some interesting guys are on display.

Some welcome comment from a board member actually in China.
Do you think these boys are going to be open about what goes on inside the KTV clubs ? There can be a tendency to be rather discrete about such things.
Do you have any plans to visit such places (please) ?
Finally, considering the kind of fees quoted by Moses above, I'd be very disappointed if the entertainment was over dressed and under performing.

You just moved your imagination to wrong direction. Look: it is karaoke. Boys are hosts. Their work is to make you feel great singer, praise you, stimulate you to buy as much drinks as is possible to yourself and to them and keep you busy with karaoke as long as possible. They don't expect tips (tips are rare in Chinese culture), they earn money mostly from commission (drinks). If you alone they will sing with you, applause to you, encourage you to sing. That is their main job in 90% of cases. And only sometimes people coming to KTV for to party of some occasion, or to celebrate birthday or something like that. Most of KTV aren't masked bordellos nor stables for offing.

Thank you a447 although I haven't bothered to read any theses.
a447. I do in fact believe them. I've met quite a few ex army boys and they're quite open about the naked physical they undergo and not shy about it. Most Chinese boys go to a hot bath once a week and everyone is naked there. I have no plans to try and ferret out one of these places. I don't need to.
Hot baths to watch naked boys frolicking in the hot bubbly water.
Clubs for cuddling and dancing.
Blued for sex.
Also. A foreigner should be very very wary of going anywhere near that sort of place in China. The stories are numerous.
There are two types of boys in nightclubs.
Those who work the floor drinking with punters and hoping to collect clients so as to earn commission when they next visit the club. They rarely last longer than a month and are wrecks at the end of it.
And those deemed more attractive although some are and some aren't. They drink with customers by order only and I believe they get about 200rmb for 3 hours although the club's have 1/2 price days on that. Sometines they appear to leave with customers.
A dancer at one club contacted me on blued and arrangements have been made.

Have to say that would do for me as well & eliminate most of the curiosity about KTV places.
[I have no connection with a447]

No. It's a small club in a small provincial city. Hence the boys are fascinated by a foreign gentlemen and come to.me.
-
Re: Pattaya’s Fight For Survival and KTV boys in China
The trick in a Chinese provincial club is to get drunk enough not to care but not so drunk as to be obnoxious. That's where I am right now.

u need drink to be obnoxious???

Re: Pattaya’s Fight For Survival and KTV boys in China
Uber pretty blonde host boy is already messaging me today so it would be rude not to go and party with him tonight.

You may want to follow your own advice and slow down on the drinking. You're starting to sound obnoxious.
