Yes Amigo.
Ironically when I went into this bar I recall it being packed with punters who had boys on each of their knees nursing a drink.Yes please say that last line again and you will get my drift about this bar.
Raids by Police over that time seen mamy many of these punters either move onto other More Pedo friendly Countries or stop coming to Thailand.
In the last couple of years a lot of the barowners have passed a way too
Somebody take away the spades.
Funny how these "notorious pedo-friendly" bars were allegedly always "packed" despite everybody who ever expresses an opinion allegedly being "disgusted" and having never set foot in them - except "by mistake" of course.
Quite how these "mistakes" occurred is itself a bit of a mystery since the very same "disgusted" people all seem to have known (and can recall more than 20yrs later) the exact names and locations of every one of these dens of iniquity.
It reminds me of the Benny Hill line - "I was shocked and disgusted... it was like Sodom and Gomorrah....I had to go six nights running to make sure"
Sorry to disappoint you but I am very much still alive! I survived prostate cancer two years ago and recently after a fall had to have a hip replaced plus my COPD gets worse. Apart from these I am ok. Veronica was a name given me at golf by the late Robert Chappell many years ago.
Without beeing hypocrite it was fun at Sunee Plaza in the past, colorful and vibrant atmshopher,It's true that there were some underage boys but the majority were legal boys and if you looked for attractive 18-21 y.o. boys this was the ultimative place to find them .at the glory days of Sunee Plaza it was better and much cheaper than Boyz Town.

“Robert Chappell did in fact die a month ago at Bangkok Pattaya hospital.”
Very sad news about Robert Chappell. I had many enjoyable rounds of golf and many more enjoyable evenings with him. Robert was a fixture 3 nights a week sitting at that round bar at the same table every night with a bottle, set up and ever-present cigarette. He was an old curmudgeon but fun to be with and had many friends. I saw him just six months ago and he said he had just turned 80 and was hoping to see him again next time. He will be missed. RIP
The last time I was back was April last year; very unhappy time as my partner died three days after my return. Do not expect to be visiting Thailand again. My book was entitled "Boyztown 1982-2006". I believe it is very scarce as many copies were turned out of storage and destroyed - or so I have been told!
A pity....it's a good read. I'm keeping mine. The list of all (well, nearly all) the gay bars that have ever been in Pattaya is interesting, too and the accounts of the very early years of Boyztown revealing. Who knows? I may be able to sell my copy in a few years!
Geneman , I used to love your Topman Go Go and was that your Mamasan the guy with the black glasses .?, he was such a nice guy too.
Mind you im going back some years now must be early 2ooo's
I wish the old times would come back but at the same time I know we need to move on:music_mini:
I hope things turn better for you Michael.
Thank you Mickp and Oliver for your kind comments.
The best days in Pattaya were the late 80s and early 90s when Boyztown still had a village atmosphere despite the commercial aspect.
Sunee too was like a small village but had too many problems with youngsters and drugs. The expansion of on-line meeting opportunities has killed off many bars and the customers too have changed. Although Thailand is still a wonderful country, for me, and I suspect many other aging gays, Gay Thailand has lost the sparkle it once had. We enjoyed the best years with the best customers and boys; it is sadly very different nowadays. My memories of the "good old days" will never fade.
Agreed...hence the value of your book.
Sglad great idea !
Can he put it on like a E book site ? Is that what you u mean ?
"Geneman". Are you a geneticist or genealogist by any chance? You must be very clever.
Yeah great idea , I guess Geneman may not be able to do it though.
But its a great idea and I hope he can get someone to help him do that.
Im sure even a lot if us are willing to pay for the E book !!
FYI: Here's an interesting Spartacus map of the Pattaya gay scene circa 1991. Pretty well ALL the gay venues in the north end of Beach Rd have gone ~ probably all in fact. Sunnee area shows nothing happening.

Didnt you have maps on your old forum Smiles?
I remember them , didnt Alan have some sort of a history book written?
I may be wrong , im going back some years .
Way before you retired in 2007
I am a genealogist! Not so clever but I have published a number of books over the years.
Unfortunately I do not have the know how to put "Boyztown" on line but I agree it would be a good idea considering how few copies appear to have survived.
I dropped into Pattaya last year for the first time in a long time and ended up visiting Boyztown, Sunee, Jomtien and NAB and another local nightclub I know not the name all in the space of 4 nights.
Boystown packed like crazy and good diverse demographic of young and old.
Friend wanted to go to Sunee Plaza. It looked like a deserted back alley. Quiet. =Definitely died down since I was last there a few years ago. Days are numbered I reckon. High time a developer came along and found better use for the land.
NAB was doing well.
Jomtien seems pretty happening.
Interesting you say that... I have plenty of 40+ and even 50+ mates and they have boys in their 20s lining up for them. Lots of younger Asians are into the whole Daddy thing. There are even DILF (Dad I'd like to fuck) events.
Depends if you've got the personality and the looks.
Especially gay tourists... Bangkok is the gay capital of Asia, even more so now. Millions of gay guys going there for weekends, holidays and circuit parties. Only a small percentage go to Pattaya though.
How many bars and go go are still open in Sunnee ?
Enough to have a good time.
I think on my last vist this year there was 13 bars and 4 GoGo but I'll check in a weeks time :yahoo_mini:
The former Krazy Dragon now deserted .....Attachment 5438and up for Rent
Im glad that The ALL of ME Bar closed , the waiter did nothing but push drinks there .
Worst bar in Sunee and the customers voted with their feet !
Good riddance to that ALL of Me " bar .......:D
Oh i know your reading this BH
All of Me was my favourite bar in Sunee. I'm glad to think we're unlikely to be in the same bar together, Mick
Sunee was a little quiet Tuesday night, and when I went into Eros bar, there was just one other customer. I hung out for an hour, and generally one customer would come in and go after 15 minutes.
I bought a drink for a boy named Bek, he claimed to be a bottom, but I suspect he was straight. And he said no Long Time was possible, which tells me he probably had a wife.
So, I diddled with him for a bit, and watched the action over on the far side of the bar. Mostly some Farang and five boys, like a school of piranha.
Thanks for the cheery news that there may still be fun for us "getting oldie types" in the future.
I would have been happier if you wrote that it "depends on personality OR looks" cos as my looks fade my personality gets better and better.
But that might not be enough-even in Asia.
O Woe is me.
