The Good General has announced his administration is now approaching the end of the second phase of its National Reform Road Map, which calls for serious eradication of graft. :clapping:

...it's not all bad.
. . . until he announces that the Road Map has a highway running the length and breadth of the country with thousands of twists and turns on the way. Eradicating corruption? Reaching even first base is going to be extremely touch and go.
He sounds far too like Thaksin standing on his soapbox announcing that after murdering 2,500 or so citizens he had wiped out drugs! And we know what a lie that was!

An election commissioner has claimed that the public trend to self-censor their opinion towards the charter draft because of the climate of fear which was not the commission’s fault, adding that if people want to know what exactly they can or cannot do during the referendum, they should better asked the junta.

A majority of people are still undecided about how to vote in the Aug 7 charter referendum, according to the result of an opinion poll by National Institute for Development Administration, or Nida Poll.
Nida's sixth survey on the charter referendum was conducted on June 28-29 on 1,500 people aged 18 and over of all levels of education and various occupations throughout the country.... (read more)...

Anti-election Election Commissioner Somchai Srisuthiyakorn has a remarkable capacity for supporting anti-democratic campaigns while being disingenuous about his motivations.
Most recently, Prachatai reports that the EC’s chief bozo has “told the media at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand that the Commission never suppressed a free discussion on the draft charter or the August referendum.”

After shutting down red-shirt referendum watch centres, the junta has established its own one nationwide for the sake of the so-called ‘peaceful, clean, fair, independent, and unbiased’ referendum while a red shirt leader said the junta’s centres aimed to dictate the referendum result.....(read more)....
