Junta bars red shirt from running referendum watch campaign

The deputy junta head said the red shirt’s referendum watch campaign was not allowed since it was under the responsibility of existing government agencies. He also demanded that red shirt stop inviting international organization to participate in the August referendum watch....(read more)...

Red shirt TV to face shutdown for breaching junta announcement

A TV station, run by a prominent red shirt co-leader, might be shut down for breaching the junta’s announcement. A national broadcast commissioner pointed that authorities failed to shut down the station under regular laws so they used an alternative by claiming the junta announcement.... (read more)...

The Royal Thai Army sometimes claims to defend the country’s reputation. As all readers of PPT would know, the Royal Thai Army is the prime reason for Thailand being seen as backward-looking, erratic, corrupt and repressive. After all, it is the Royal Thai Army that regularly murders its citizens, acts as a gang of thugs for the plutoctratic elite, and repeatedly throws out elected governments. We may have lost track, but the last time we looked, Thailand was the only military dictatorship in the world.

Yellow shirts accuse junta pack of risking national territory under charter draft

A group of people dressed in yellow shirts have filed an accusation with the Administrative Court against the junta pack -- the PM, cabinet, charter drafters, lawmakers, and election commission -- for risking Thailand’s territory under the constitution draft, adding that the referendum should be postponed until the problematic articles were fixed....(read more)...

The military summoned key leaders of the anti-establishment red shirt group in northern Thailand into the military base over a draft constitution referendum watch campaign.
