Most people still undecided over draft charter - Poll

Most people are still undecided whether to vote for or against the draft constitution in the Aug 7 referendum, according to the result of a third survey by National Institute for Development Administration, or Nida Poll, on the charter referendum.
The poll was conducted on on 1,500 people aged 18 and over of all levels of education and various occupations throughout the country.

Pheu Thai politicians in Isan caught up in junta’s mafia crackdown

The Thai military summoned former members of the parliament (MP) from Pheu Thai Party in Isan, Thailand’s northeast, for a discussion as their names appeared on the junta’s list of ‘influential figures’.
Matichon Online and Thairath News reported that Kriang Kalthinan and Vorasith Kalthinan, former MPs of Pheu Thai Party from the Isan province of Ubon Ratchathani, together with Pistaya Chaisongkram, Vorasith’s wife, on Monday morning, 30 May 2016, reported to the 22th Military Circle in Warin Chamrap District of the province.... Red shirts launch referendum watch campaign

A fraction of red shirts have launched a referendum watch campaign, aiming to prevent electoral fraud in the August referendum and to educate people about the content of the charter draft. Meanwhile, Deep South civil society also started a similar campaign.

People Poll predicts landslide votes against charter draft in the referendum

An independent survey has shown that in the August referendum, most of the respondents will not approve the charter draft and the junta’s proposal to allow the junta-appointed senators to jointly vote for PM.
People Poll Thailand has published a result of the survey on people’s opinions toward the August referendum. The data was collected online between 15 and 31 May 2016 from 2,095 Thais across the country. The survey simulates the same questions which will be used in the referendum in August....(read more)....
