I stay in contact with 3 good friends who visited Pattaya regularly, as I did prior to retirement. They are all suffering miserable cold winters, under covid lockdowns similar to being quarantined, and would give their left nuts for the opportunity to return. Unfortunately, all 3 have underlying health conditions which prevent them from returning until a vaccine is available.
Gogi and gerfan2, If I were stranded on the other side of the pond I would have done EXACTLY as you did. Two weeks of quarantine in Thailand isn't a whole hell of a lot different than the isolated and restricted lifestyles my friends have right now back in London, New York and Belfast...and they're freezing their balls off in the process and haven't had a naked boy between the sheets in over a year now.
It's easy for expats (including myself) to take things for granted sometimes, but all I have to do is close my eyes and imagine myself scraping ice of the windshield of my car back in Chicago to clear my senses.
Enjoy yourselves to the max.. stay as long as you can...and when you wake up with a naked brown boy laying next to you - try not punish yourself too much for being stupid and coming here.
