Qatar World Cup 1992 (continued - well, sort of!)

Whilst immigrant labourers continue to die with pretty horrific regularity whilst building World Cup venues and infrastructure, little has happened with changing the relevant stringent employment laws. Yet, the wealth of its rulers knows no bounds - not reasonable ones anyway. "Bespoke" is a word associated with the rich. How about this, though? A bespoke crystal-encrusted Steinway concert grand piano with each crystal applied by hand? Price tag? A cool US$620,000!

Didn't the "influential sheik" realise there is one on the second hand market that used to belong to Liberace? Oops, that was certainly a full-size 9 ft. grand. But it was made by Baldwin, regarded by those in the know as considerably inferior to the world-beating Steinway. When you're running the Qatar World Cup, nothing but the best, folks!

For those in charge, that is.
