Plane Crash-Pattaya connection.
Pattaya finds it hard to stay out of bad news. (It's Pattaya after all).
This evening Aljazeera did a report from outside 6-STAR TRAVEL, Pattaya (Central Festival I think) to report that 2 tickets for the ill-fated Malaysian Airlines flight were issued there to holders of 2 stolen passports.
To add to Pattaya's reputation for sleeze and fun and who knows what else Aljazeera cited it as a location for a lively trade in stolen and SOLD passports.
The passports in question were reported stolen from an Italian and an Austrian in Pattaya some time ago.
The least it points to is careless scrutiny of the documents by the travel agents but also by airport security staff.
Re: Plane Crash-Pattaya connection.
The passports were apparently stolen in Phuket, not in Pattaya.
Re: Plane Crash-Pattaya connection.
Saw the Police and cameras on the way to the beach.
Thought something actually worth reporting was happening.
My mistake.
Re: Plane Crash-Pattaya connection.
Here is an article from Phuket about the stolen passports.

I stand corrected on that. I didn't know there was a Phuket connection-
"Phuk et!" as the lady said when she got the nosebleed-"if it's not one place it's the other".
