Results of USA election - progress on gay issues

It was close, but Obama has won the election for President of the United States. :occasion5:

I loved that during his victory speech, he re-affirmed his thoughts on "gay rights":

Also worth noting is the passage of laws legalizing same-sex marriage in 2 more states. (Maryland and Maine).
Initiatives in Wasington State and Minnesota are still pending.

And the election of The first openly gay member to the US Senate. (Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin)

I see progress and have high hopes for the future of our civil rights in America....Buddha knows we have waited long enough.....
