Asian Boy Superstars Team-up to take over Youtube!
I've posted about these guys before, but this is the first time kevjumba (Kevin Wu) and nigahiga (Ryan Higa) of youtube have made a full length video together. I find it to be entertaining and cute and sorta funny. It also features Poereotics, an Asian-American dance crew that came in first on the TV show Americas Best Dance Crew this year.

Kevin also recently completed a web series with WongFu Productions (Phillip Wong, Wesley Chan, and Ted Fu) called "Funemployed". The series guest stars Ryan Higa as well as youtube musician David Choi.
This is episode one of eleven of Funemployed

I think they did a pretty good job on this series overall, but I'm enjoying the outtake videos better than the actual story. This one features Ryan being his goofy cheesecakey cutie-pie self:

Here's a song by David Choi Produced by WongFu on the Wongfu youtube channel. It looks and sounds really professional and is a great song:

David does more "unplugged" style arrangements of his songs on his own channel, like this one:

And covers such as this Lady Gaga song:

David had his channel suspended recently in a copyright dispute about the cover songs, but it is back up now with all the videos still on it, so presumably he won that battle.
Coming soon.....A new parody song with Ryan Higa and David Choi.

You know what? Let's start all over with the comments on this thread. Let's leave out opinions about other posters on this board. Including me. Especially me even.
Just watch the goddamned videos by the nice creative young people or don't.
Comment on the videos or don't comment at all.
Up to you.

I agree and think you could count most of us in on that one, Spike. That said, you and jinks have a rat's nest of sizable proportions to clean out on the Gay Thailand section, where it seems every other thread degenerates into name-calling.
Thanks for bringing this up, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd appreciate the mods doing it.
Looking forward to seeing you carry through with your idea.
By the way - nice clips, thanks!

I really like Wes Chan from Wong Fu productions.
He is so hot!

Thanks, Bao-Bao. I think I got rid of two of the worst offenders. I guess it helps me to see it when the bile is spewing at me personally. :crybaby:
Yes, Peter, Wesley is the looker of that trio. He seems to be mostly behind the camera, though. WongFu just finished filming an action-adventure-comedy short film with Ryan that Ryan says may run up to an hour in length. I'm looking forward to seeing it. It also will feature fellow youtubers KaseemG and Smosh as well as Ryan's buddy D_Trix of the Quest Crew dance troop. (I'm beginning to think Ryan has a thing for dancers! :happy7: )

I am not a Ryan fan.
And Kevin looks pretty geeky. But he is growing on me.
Kevin is FUNNY as heck.
What do you think of their music video?
Pretty catchy tune, but not making me go ga-ga.
But check out 2pm. Now, these guys are HOT.

Re: Asian Boy Superstars Team-up to take over Youtube!
Not a :love4: Ryan :love4: fan?! I less than three <3 Ryan. :sign5: He's really more of an entertainer and personality than a comedian though.
Kevin is of course "acting" goofy in the Poreotics sketch.
I'm not sure if I've seen the video that still is from, but if its a David Choi song and a WongFu production, I'm sure I'll love it.
I think one thing that a lot of us "older folks" who were raised on TV miss about youtube is the social media aspect of it. When you subscribe to a youtube channel, it is largely because you like the person behind the channel. You join a network of friends of the person. You type in comments and they can reply. You tend to be less picky about technical details than you would be with a tv show. They are your "friends" now and you want them to do well.
These kids all have videos that regularly get millions of views. Big media is noticing this, but I don't think its something they can reverse engineer and mass-produce. It's all about the home-growness of the thing and the individual appeal of the people that create the content.

I loved all of the ones I had time to look at when I was looking, ptr is right, I was the voyeur from behind.
How he knew I have no idea.
Wes
